Guten Tag! Grüß Gott! Juten Tach!

Whoever thought that Germany had only one culture will be disappointed!
Cultural differences also exist within Germany; something that I have experienced first-hand.

I grew up in Hamburg, in the far North. I studied Germanic Philology and Cultural Science in Berlin and the South of Germany. Because of my familiarity with the regional differences, German lessons are more to me than just the language.

Language and culture belong together like a knife and fork: together they form an excellent tool for making contacts and maintaining associations with the neighbouring country.

My ideal lesson: if I can convey my enthusiasm for language and culture to my students then my lesson has been a success!
How can I try to do that? With a good measure of humour, empathy and lively interaction with the students. My creativity knows no bounds and I continue to seek out new methods and different types of teaching material to convey my knowledge.

Today’s tip: It is good to keep one’s mind on the lesson. For the students, but also especially for the teachers!

Bis bald!
